Abstract Anatomy Longsleeve
$295
A linen long-sleeve shirt with a twist. My background comes from health sciences, so the human form and its abilities have always been an interest to me. I feel that our makeup inspires every piece I make, but this shirt more so. My attempt at designing based on the human form resulted in an abstraction of anatomy. The lines and tassels are positioned in a way to represents major anatomical landmarks that can be representative of related bones, tissues, or regions. For instance, the back tassels may represent the inferior angle of the scapula, while the central line detail may represent the spinal column or linea alba of the abdominals. This shirt also provides a contradiction with the tassels and silhouettes that flow with movement but resemble a straitjacket, which is designed to constrict the wearer.
